Our client is a historic institution dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to retired soldiers. We are seeking a Ward Manager in Nursing Care who will embody our core values and drive continuous improvement in our care services.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Take operational responsibility for nursing care during your hours of duty, demonstrating effective clinical leadership.
  • Ensure comprehensive completion and maintenance of care plans for Pensioners, adhering to professional standards.
  • Manage the medication process in line with NMC Standards and RHC Medication Policy.
  • Support staff nurses and care staff in shift management, effectively addressing concerns and complaints.
  • Conduct timely monitoring and documentation of new admissions.
  • Collaborate professionally with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Uphold integrity in handling Pensioners' personal and financial affairs.
  • Address any staff concerns regarding unprofessional behaviour promptly.
  • Lead training and development for all allocated staff, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and competence, engaging actively in the duty matron on-call rota.
  • Manage the ward duty rota and ensure safe staffing levels.
  • Conduct clinical audits and contribute to continuous improvement of clinical governance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to develop working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
  • Excellent planning, prioritisation, and organisational abilities.
  • In-depth clinical knowledge relevant to elderly care.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining care plans and risk assessments.
  • Understanding of the Care Quality Commission's Fundamental Standards.
  • Valid NMC PIN and evidence of revalidation and ongoing professional development.
  • Qualified RGN or RMN, with leadership and management training in a clinical setting.
