Long Term Futures is seeking a patient, resilient and proactive ABA Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a young boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role is based within a nurturing primary setting and focuses on delivering structured support using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles to help build communication, engagement and independence.
About the Role
- This position is well suited to someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs through tailored strategies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering consistent 1:1 support using ABA techniques.
- Encouraging communication and social interaction through structured routines and reinforcement.
- Supporting learning and play activities in line with the class teacher's planning.
- Helping with transitions, behaviour regulation and developing focus in class.
- Collaborating closely with SEN staff, parents and external specialists to ensure progress is monitored and celebrated.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Previous experience working with children with ASD, ideally using ABA or similar behaviour-based strategies.
- Knowledge of positive reinforcement, structured teaching, and visual supports.
- A calm, patient and engaging personality, with the ability to build trust and consistency.
- Resilient and proactive when supporting emotional or behavioural challenges.
- Passionate about helping children with SEND achieve their potential.
