Long Term Futures is seeking a patient, resilient and proactive ABA Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a young boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role is based within a nurturing primary setting and focuses on delivering structured support using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles to help build communication, engagement and independence.

About the Role

  • This position is well suited to someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs through tailored strategies. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering consistent 1:1 support using ABA techniques.
  • Encouraging communication and social interaction through structured routines and reinforcement.
  • Supporting learning and play activities in line with the class teacher's planning.
  • Helping with transitions, behaviour regulation and developing focus in class.
  • Collaborating closely with SEN staff, parents and external specialists to ensure progress is monitored and celebrated.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience working with children with ASD, ideally using ABA or similar behaviour-based strategies.
  • Knowledge of positive reinforcement, structured teaching, and visual supports.
  • A calm, patient and engaging personality, with the ability to build trust and consistency.
  • Resilient and proactive when supporting emotional or behavioural challenges.
  • Passionate about helping children with SEND achieve their potential.
