EYFS Teaching Assistant
ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Prospero Teaching is looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant for an Ofsted Outstanding Primary school in Leyton, Waltham Forest. The school is a popular three-form entry mainstream Primary School. This role is open to skilled and experienced practitioners, with the possibility of extension or a permanent contract based on performance.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
Location - Leyton, Waltham Forest
Position - EYFS Teaching Assistant
Type of work - Supporting Early Years learners both 1:1 and in small groups, delivering targeted SEN interventions, supporting learning through play, contributing to planning discussions and observations, and promoting independence and emotional regulation
Contract or position start date - 5th January 2026
Duration / Likely Duration - until end of the academic year July 2026
Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) - Temporary (with a view for an extension)
Full time/part time - Full time
Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate GBP90 - 110 per day (DOE)
Hours - 8:00am - 15:30pm or 8:30am - 16:00pm: Mon - Fri (term time only)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 1 year experience working in an Early Years setting (Nursery or Reception preferred)
Proven experience supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language delay, sensory needs)
Strong understanding of EYFS curriculum and play-based learning
Confident in communication with parents, SENCO and external agencies
Knowledge of behaviour regulation strategies and positive behaviour support
Up-to-date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
Relevant TA qualification (Level 2/3, CACHE, NNEB or equivalent) desirable
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
