The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a compassionate and proactive Primary Teaching Assistant with SEN responsibilities to join a diverse and inclusive primary school in the Barking area.
The school provides tailored support for pupils across KS1 and KS2 with Special Educational Needs, including Autism, Speech & Language needs, ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning while contributing to a positive, supportive school environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEN needs
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons
* Help implement strategies to support behaviour, communication, and emotional regulation
* Contribute to creating a structured, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
* Deliver targeted academic and social interventions to support pupil progress
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Requirements:
* Experience supporting pupils with SEN in a primary school setting
* Strong communication and behaviour-management skills
* A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach
* Passion for child development and inclusive education
* Understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing, and SEN best practice
