Our Outstanding school in the vibrant and diverse borough of Hackney, London, seeks a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Teacher of Religious Studies to join our thriving Humanities department and make a real difference to the understanding of beliefs, values, and ethics of our students across Key Stage 3 and, crucially, Key Stage 4 and 5, commencing in September 2025.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective Religious Studies lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of our students across all key stages, reflecting the multicultural and multi-faith context of Hackney.
  • Fostering students' understanding of key religious traditions, philosophical concepts, and ethical theories, with a strong emphasis on the demands of the A-Level specification.
  • Encouraging critical thinking, analysis, and evaluation of religious and philosophical ideas and their impact on individuals and societies.
  • Assessing and tracking student progress in Religious Studies across all key stages, providing constructive feedback, and implementing effective intervention strategies, particularly for A-Level students.
  • Contributing to the development, implementation, and review of the Religious Studies curriculum across all key stages, ensuring alignment with examination specifications and opportunities for interfaith learning.
  • Utilizing and contributing to the development of high-quality Religious Studies resources, including digital tools, primary religious texts, philosophical readings, and contemporary ethical debates relevant to the student population of Hackney.
