A high-achieving secondary school located in the heart of Tower Hamlets is seeking a committed and talented Maths teacher to join its leadership team as Second in Charge of Mathematics. About the Role
As Second in Charge of Mathematics, the successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the strategic and day-to-day leadership of a successful Maths department. Working closely with the Head of Department, they will help drive excellence in teaching and learning, with a focus on curriculum innovation, high standards, and inclusive practice.

Key Responsibilities – Second in Charge of Mathematics:
•    Assist in leading the Maths department, helping to deliver a cohesive and challenging curriculum across all key stages
•    Support the development of teaching strategies and assessment models aligned with best practice and research
•    Deliver outstanding lessons that engage students and raise attainment across KS3, KS4, and KS5
•    Provide mentorship and coaching for colleagues, contributing to the professional development of the team
•    Use data effectively to identify gaps in progress and implement targeted interventions
•    Champion enrichment opportunities such as Maths clubs, competitions, and external partnerships
•    Collaborate with senior staff to support the wider school improvement agenda

The Ideal Second in Charge of Mathematics (2iC) Candidate Will:
•    Be a passionate and effective classroom practitioner with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
•    Have experience teaching Mathematics at GCSE and ideally A-Level
•    Show evidence of leadership potential and a commitment to team development
•    Possess strong communication and organisational skills
•    Be committed to delivering inclusive education and raising achievement for all learners
•    Have a thorough understanding of current pedagogy and curriculum developments in Maths
