We are looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work alongside a supportive staff team in a Barking & Dagenham Primary School. You would be working in an intervention class, working with groups and individual children. All the children have a diagnosis of autism. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have bags of resilience and some sensory experience to plan activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support SEN children on a 1:1 or small group basis.
- Understanding of Autism and challenging behaviour
- Have experience in planning sensory based activities
- Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience working with ASD/SEMH pupils
- Knowledge: Good understanding of behaviour management
- Desirable: Experience working with children with SEN in a school/ provision.
