Long Term Futures are working with a warm and inclusive all-girls secondary school in Wandsworth to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a female Year 9 student with multiple learning needs.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting this student's academic, personal and emotional development. The role includes providing personal care, supporting her in lessons, and ensuring access to a safe, structured and engaging learning environment.
This is a long-term opportunity for someone who is patient, nurturing and confident in working with young people who require consistent care and learning support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support for a female Year 9 student with a range of learning and personal care needs
* Deliver support across a variety of lessons in line with the student's EHCP
* Assist with personal care routines including toileting and hygiene (training provided)
* Encourage student engagement, independence and emotional regulation
* Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCo and family members
* Maintain consistent routines to support learning and wellbeing throughout the school day
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience supporting students with SEN in a secondary school or care setting
* Confidence delivering personal care with sensitivity and professionalism
* A calm, positive and proactive approach to learning support
* Knowledge of strategies to support learning, communication and social development
* Background in SEND, health and social care or learning support desirable
Location and Transport - Wandsworth, South West London
* Accessible via Earlsfield, Clapham Junction and Wandsworth Town stations
* Bus routes include: 44, 270, 77, 37
* Staff parking and secure bike storage available
