SEND Teaching Assistant

Up to 110 per day | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)

Long Term Futures are working with a caring and inclusive primary school in Newham to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs and complex learning profiles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including complex needs
• Assist with learning, behaviour, communication and emotional regulation
• Follow EHCPs and work closely with the SENCo, class teacher and therapy teams
• Use strategies and visual tools to support engagement and progress
• Monitor pupil development and contribute to review meetings
• Support pupils with personal care if required (training provided)

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Proven experience supporting children with complex SEN in a primary setting
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach to learning support
• Understanding of autism, communication needs, or physical/medical challenges
• Experience using tools such as PECS, Makaton or visual timetables
• Ability to build trust and foster independence in pupils

• Accessible via Stratford, Plaistow, Forest Gate and Canning Town
• Bus routes include: 25, 86, 104, 241, 474
• Staff parking and cycle storage available
