We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a supportive school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to children’s learning, development, and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEND

  • Support children with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

  • Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons to meet individual needs

  • Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans

  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and independence

  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and communication needs

  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed

Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school, nursery, or care setting)

  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable (but not essential)
  • Experience working 1:1 with SEND pupils

  • Training in ASD, SEMH, ADHD, or behaviour management

  • Team Teach or similar behaviour support training
