Overview:
SANZA Teaching Agency is recruiting for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with British Sign Language (BSL) qualifications to support pupils in a primary school deaf provision. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for inclusive education and the skills to support children with hearing impairments in accessing the curriculum and thriving in their learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for deaf pupils across the primary age range.

  • Use BSL fluently and confidently to aid communication and learning.

  • Assist the class teacher, Teacher of the Deaf, and SENCO with delivering differentiated lessons.

  • Support children's social and emotional development, building confidence and independence.

  • Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all pupils.

Requirements:

  • A recognised BSL qualification (minimum Level 2, ideally Level 3 or above).

  • Previous experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired children (essential).

  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

  • A patient, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting children with additional needs.
