Are you an experienced and passionate Social Science Teacher ready to inspire the next generation?

GSL Education are currently seeking a knowledgeable and committed Social Science Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This part-time role is ideal for someone with a strong background in teaching Health and Social Care, Social Studies, Citizenship, and PSHE.

As a Social Science Teacher, you will be working in a diverse and inclusive school environment where the focus is on empowering students to become thoughtful, informed, and responsible citizens. Your lessons will play a critical role in shaping students’ understanding of society, relationships, and well-being, equipping them with essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across the Social Science subjects including Health and Social Care, Social Studies, Citizenship and PSHE.
  • Inspire and motivate students through creative teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Assess, track and report on student progress, providing interventions where necessary.
  • Contribute to a supportive and collaborative departmental culture.
  • Uphold the values and standards of the school, ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Health and Social Care, Social Studies, Citizenship and PSHE at secondary level.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Social Sciences.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
