A lovely two-form entry primary school in Haringey is currently looking for a passionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. This full-time position involves supporting a Reception pupil with complex ASD needs on a 1:1 basis. The child benefits from a calm and nurturing environment and requires a consistent routine and specialist interventions to thrive.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside a skilled EYFS team and a proactive SENCO to ensure the child is supported both academically and emotionally. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for candidates with prior experience working in EYFS or with ASD pupils. Psychology graduates or those interested in child development and SEN education are also welcome to apply.
SEN Teaching Assistant - Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to a pupil in Reception with ASD, including sensory and communication support.
Follow EHCP strategies and deliver targeted interventions.
Create a safe and nurturing space for the pupil to regulate their emotions and access learning.
Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and therapists to track progress.
SEN Teaching Assistant - Candidate Profile:
A minimum of 6 months experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or equivalent support role.
Knowledge of EYFS curriculum and ASD strategies.
Empathetic, adaptable, and enthusiastic personality.
Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one through Reeson Education.
