Academics LTD are working with this very friendly and successful Primary school based in the borough if Westminster, to recruit an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join their team form September.

The role will be working in their Nursery class with a child with Autism who will be joining the school from September 2025. This position would suit a Teaching Assistant who would like to work with the early year's curriculum. Full training will be given to support the child and assist him to access the curriculum in class.

This role will give you the opportunity to work alongside a speech and language therapist and other occupational therapist to plan and deliver the child's education health plan and support him in his first steps into education.

The child is currently nonverbal and will require a 1:1 support who will patient, caring, supportive and encouraging. The child has very supportive parents who are keen to assist the school by talking new techniques home to try to augment his progress in school.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and will be comfortable talking to parents, staff and visitors to the school. Experience working in a Primary School would be advantageous but not essential, however you will need to have experience working with children in another capacity.
