Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 1
Location: Pimlico, Westminster, London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only (Fixed-Term or Permanent)
Salary: 80 - 110 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
We are a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the heart of Pimlico (Westminster), seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 1 team from September 2025.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young children with special educational needs, particularly in the areas of communication and language, attention and focus, and emotional regulation. You will play a vital role in helping children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other additional needs thrive in the classroom.

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will support individual pupils and small groups with tailored strategies, adapted resources, and consistent routines to ensure they can access the curriculum and feel secure and supported in their learning.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism, speech and language needs, or social communication difficulties

  • Understands how to implement structured, supportive strategies such as visual timetables, now/next boards, or sensory regulation techniques

  • Is calm, empathetic, and highly patient, with a child-centred approach

  • Can work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support individual learning plans

  • Has strong communication skills and a willingness to learn

  • Holds relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential - experience and attitude are key)

In return, we offer:

  • A supportive and experienced SEN team

  • Access to high-quality CPD and training in SEND practice

  • A nurturing and inclusive school ethos with a focus on child well-being

  • Opportunities to work closely with specialist professionals (e.g., speech and language therapists, occupational therapists)

  • A central London location with excellent transport links (Pimlico/Victoria)

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to making a real difference in the lives of children who need it most. It would suit someone with previous SEN experience or someone with the right mindset and a genuine passion for inclusive education.

How to Apply:
Please send your CV and a short covering letter explaining your interest and suitability for the role.
