A thriving Primary School in Haringey is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 1 with Autism. The Teaching Assistant will play a key role in creating a supportive and structured learning environment where the pupil can flourish academically and socially.
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside the SENCo and class teacher to implement tailored learning strategies, support sensory needs, and encourage positive social interactions.
Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:
Provide 1:1 support using visual timetables, PECS, or Makaton (training available).
Help the child access classroom learning and build communication skills.
Promote emotional regulation through consistent structure and routine.
Work collaboratively with staff and parents to track progress.
Requirements for the Teaching Assistant:
Previous experience supporting children with Autism or SEN.
Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable.
Ability to follow individual education plans and work independently.

Pay: 85-100 per day
