An inclusive and Good Ofsted-rated Primary School in Kennington, SW London, is seeking a confident and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within their dedicated SEN Unit. This is a long-term opportunity for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience with Autism and thrives in a structured, nurturing environment.

The school's SENCo is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can adapt quickly, build trust with pupils, and help implement tailored learning plans for children with communication and sensory needs.

Responsibilities for the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Support children with Autism and complex learning needs in a small, specialist classroom.

  • Use visual supports, social stories, and sensory activities to aid learning and engagement.

  • Provide emotional regulation and behaviour support throughout the day.

  • Work closely with class teachers and external professionals to deliver consistent strategies.

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary setting.

  • Strong understanding of Autism and sensory processing.

  • Calm, resilient, and reliable personality.

  • Confident using PECS or basic Makaton (training provided if needed).

Details:

  • Location: Kennington, near Vauxhall, SW London

  • Start: Immediate / October 2025

  • Hours: 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday

  • Pay: 85-105 per day
