An inclusive and Good Ofsted-rated Primary School in Kennington, SW London, is seeking a confident and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within their dedicated SEN Unit. This is a long-term opportunity for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience with Autism and thrives in a structured, nurturing environment.
The school's SENCo is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can adapt quickly, build trust with pupils, and help implement tailored learning plans for children with communication and sensory needs.
Responsibilities for the SEN Teaching Assistant:
Support children with Autism and complex learning needs in a small, specialist classroom.
Use visual supports, social stories, and sensory activities to aid learning and engagement.
Provide emotional regulation and behaviour support throughout the day.
Work closely with class teachers and external professionals to deliver consistent strategies.
Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant:
Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary setting.
Strong understanding of Autism and sensory processing.
Calm, resilient, and reliable personality.
Confident using PECS or basic Makaton (training provided if needed).

Location: Kennington, near Vauxhall, SW London
Start: Immediate / October 2025
Hours: 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: 85-105 per day
