A welcoming Primary School in Haringey is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their SEND Hub, supporting pupils in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 with complex needs. This long-term SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone with a nurturing approach who can confidently work with children who are pre-verbal, have Autism (ASC), and require intimate care support.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be primarily supporting Year 2 pupils following a highly bespoke timetable. The provision runs on an EYFS model and includes sensory circuits, table-top learning, Attention Autism sessions, and speech and language interventions. You will work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCo, and therapists to provide a structured, engaging learning environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will include:
Supporting pupils with Autism and complex learning needs in the SEND Hub.
Assisting with sensory and play-based learning activities.
Helping deliver bespoke programmes and interventions designed by the SEN team.
Supporting children with intimate care, emotional regulation, and communication.
Liaising with speech and language therapists and external professionals.
Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant:
Previous experience supporting pupils with Autism or complex SEN.
Confidence with personal care and risk-assessed support plans.
A calm, patient, and compassionate approach to learning.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.

Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Long-term (with potential to go permanent)
Pay: 90-110 per day (depending on experience)
