About the Role

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greenwich is seeking a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from Monday 17th November. This full-time role involves supporting a Year 1 class, working with pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) to help them reach their full potential both academically and socially.

You'll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, providing targeted one-to-one and small group support. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with additional needs such as Autism, Speech and Language Delay, or mild learning difficulties.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN in Year 1.

  • Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

  • Monitor progress and help pupils develop confidence and independence.

  • Work collaboratively with staff and parents to support individual learning plans.



Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in an SEN setting.

  • Understanding of strategies to support pupils with additional needs.

  • Positive attitude, excellent communication, and patience.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

  • Commitment to supporting children's academic and emotional growth.
