Teaching Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) school in Lambeth. This inclusive and well-resourced secondary setting supports students with a range of learning needs and is seeking a committed individual to work 1:1 with a Year 7 student with a visual impairment, providing both academic and personal support.
This is a rewarding position for a compassionate, adaptable, and proactive Teaching Assistant who is confident working closely with pupils who may benefit from support in both English and another home language such as Spanish.
About the Role:
Working 1:1 with a student in Year 7 who has a visual impairment and additional learning needs
Supporting access to learning in and out of the classroom as a valued Teaching Assistant
Helping the student engage with class content, develop independence, and build confidence
Located in Lambeth, the school has excellent specialist support and a welcoming team
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN or mainstream setting
A calm, patient approach and a genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs
Strong communication skills, with the ability to support bilingual learners
Flexibility and creativity in adapting learning for a student with visual impairment
A team player who is ready to contribute positively as a Teaching Assistant
