Year 2 Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEN Support
Location: Southwark, London
Contract Type: Full Time, Long Term
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm (plus optional overtime in Breakfast & After School Clubs)
Daily Rate: 95 - 103 per day (plus additional pay for overtime)

SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be working with a warm and welcoming primary school in the heart of Southwark, currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Year 2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a lovely student with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

About the Role:

This rewarding role involves working closely with a Year 2 pupil on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support to help them thrive both academically and socially. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo to implement learning strategies and promote inclusion in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with identified SEN
  • Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Track and monitor progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and parents
  • Support with transitions and daily routines

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (especially in a primary school setting) is highly desirable
  • Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic with a passion for supporting young learners
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Additional Hours:

There is potential for additional income through overtime in the Breakfast Club (starting from 7:45am) and/or After School Club (until 6pm), providing wraparound care and engaging activities.
