37.5 hours per week

Weekends on rotation.

The role / duties:

You will be responsible for operations in the housekeeping departments at 2 of our 30 bedroom, central London town house properties.

Supported by a deputy in each property, you will be responsible for ensuring the standards of cleaning and presentation are maintained.

As Head Housekeeper you will be required to carry out a range of tasks including:

  • Organising the daily tasks and responsibilities of the housekeeping teams.

  • Recruitment, supervision and motivation of the housekeeping team.

  • Delivering training.

  • Implementing housekeeping systems and procedures.

  • Setting and checking standards of cleaning throughout the hotel in accordance with company standards.

  • Maintaining a close working relationship with other departments.

  • Working alongside the inhouse design team to ensure the highest standards of presentation.

  • Maintaining housekeeping records.

  • Ordering of supplies and equipment.

  • Ensuring compliance with company and statutory procedures and regulations.

You will be required to effectively manage your time between the 2 properties.

Our room service breakfast provision also falls under the housekeeper's remit. You will be responsible for staffing and supervising the breakfast service, as well as managing the kitchen operations and ordering food stock.

We are a small team so you will be prepared to cover shortages and assist in all areas of housekeeping. This mayinclude; cleaning a section, covering breakfast service and assisting with deep cleaning tasks.

Skills:

Candidates must be able to demonstrateexcellent leadership, genuine passion for service, dedication to your work and the desire to go the extra distance to ensure that standards are maintained and wherever possible guests expectations are surpassed.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a broad range of skills and experience which should include;

  • A genuine passion for housekeeping standards and the customer experience.

  • Social confidence. You must be able to interact confidently with guests and colleagues.

  • Management presence. A confident leader with the ability to manage and motivate ateam.

  • A hands-on approach. This is not a desk-based role. We are looking for a head housekeeper who is willing to get stuck in and work alongside their team.

  • Communication. You must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with your team, management, guests and contractors.

  • The ability to think strategically and to react to changing circumstances and business demands.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Pride in your personal appearance.

  • The ability to multitask and the drive to see things completed with the required attention to detail.

  • Be a team player, ready and willing to assist your colleagues in all departments.

  • Competency in all areas of housekeeping operations.

Previous Experience:

Previous experience working as a Head Housekeeperin a similar hotel environment is essential.
