Our client is a leader in their field and are now looking for an experienced Housing Manager who will be responsible to the Director of Housing and Support for providing excellent delivery of housing & tenancy services, including allocations, rent arrears prevention and recovery, tenancy management and tackling anti-social behaviour. You will manage a small team of housing officers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that tenancy services comply with best practice, the law and the regulatory framework and that all relevant policies, procedures, processes and administrative systems are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Manage day to day tenancy services expenditure in line with budget.
- Manage, develop and support the Housing Officers
- Ensure the team provides an effective, high quality, customer focussed service including:
- o Allocations, tenancy move-ons and transfers
- o Nominations to the Veterans Nominations Scheme
- o Rent collection and arrears management
- o Housing Benefit information and advice
- o Resident engagement
- o Enforcement of tenancy conditions
- o Dealing with neighbour disputes and anti-social behaviour
- o Tenancy sustainment and support
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable experience in a housing manager role
- Proven up to date knowledge of Housing law, welfare reform, legal requirements and practical application of legislation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of managing a small team
- Good IT skills
