Our client is a leader in their field and are now looking for an experienced Housing Manager who will be responsible to the Director of Housing and Support for providing excellent delivery of housing & tenancy services, including allocations, rent arrears prevention and recovery, tenancy management and tackling anti-social behaviour. You will manage a small team of housing officers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that tenancy services comply with best practice, the law and the regulatory framework and that all relevant policies, procedures, processes and administrative systems are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Manage day to day tenancy services expenditure in line with budget.
  • Manage, develop and support the Housing Officers
  • Ensure the team provides an effective, high quality, customer focussed service including:
  • o Allocations, tenancy move-ons and transfers
  • o Nominations to the Veterans Nominations Scheme
  • o Rent collection and arrears management
  • o Housing Benefit information and advice
  • o Resident engagement
  • o Enforcement of tenancy conditions
  • o Dealing with neighbour disputes and anti-social behaviour
  • o Tenancy sustainment and support

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in a housing manager role
  • Proven up to date knowledge of Housing law, welfare reform, legal requirements and practical application of legislation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of managing a small team
  • Good IT skills
