Housing Solutions Manager

Location: Hornton Street, W8 7NX
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 27.40 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Support the Service Manager in delivering a framework to prevent or relieve homelessness and reduce temporary accommodation usage.
  • Manage partnerships with key stakeholders and maintain community relations.
  • Assess, investigate, and verify applications for the Housing Register under relevant housing acts.
  • Determine duties owed to households under the Homeless Reduction Act and Housing Act.
  • Lead a team to provide customer-friendly housing solutions and develop innovative solutions to prevent homelessness.
  • Ensure assessments of housing needs comply with relevant legislation, including the Care Act and Children’s Act.
  • Handle inquiries, complaints, and correspondence from various stakeholders.
  • Manage staff to maintain adequate staffing levels and ensure effective communication.
  • Develop staff potential and contribute to budget monitoring and expenditure reduction.
  • Create and maintain accurate service records and contribute to good information governance.
  • Participate in relevant projects and lead teams in delivering specific housing services.
Person Specifications
  • Demonstrate understanding and commitment to equal opportunities and customer care policies.
  • Possess a minimum of A Level standard education or equivalent; a degree or professional qualification is desirable.
  • Have a good knowledge of legislation on lettings, homelessness, and housing options.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening and advocacy.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, think creatively, and identify solutions.
  • Understand current issues affecting social and private housing provision.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team to prioritize workloads and achieve targets.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and experience in record keeping.
  • Effectively use a range of IT applications.
