Reed HR are working alongside an Educational Establishment based in North West London who are recruiting for an interim Assistant HR Advisor with the plans to move onto a permanent contract after a short period of time. This role is full time in the office based on the nature of the role. 

Job Summary

- To be directly responsible for the operational delivery of all Human Resource functions within the school as required.

- To be the schools GDPR lead therefore directly responsible for data management and protection within the school. -

To be directly responsible for the school’s Single Central Record (SCR)  

- To be responsible for compliance administration and management for site and facilities.

- To manage the IT support service provider in the school.

- To contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school.

Duties and Responsibilities 

General

- Work in partnership with the School Business Manager, ensuring a high level of HR service consistency throughout the school, providing advice to managers on employment matters and working with them to resolve employee issues in a timely and constructive manner

- Take a lead role in the development and maintenance of confidential manual and computerised records and management information systems (Arbor)

- Ensure the school’s HR policies are clearly communicated to all staff pertaining to their employment, performance, terms and conditions and the importance of working to and within these

- Seek and make use of specialist expertise in relation to HR issues

- To lead and or participate in all non-curriculum strategic projects within the school

- To provide administration support to HR, school office and Senior Leadership as and when required.

Recruitment & Selection 

- Administration of recruitment including: creating adverts, and recruitment packs, providing shortlisting documentation to panel, organization of assessment and interviews, pre-employment checks, reference requests, prepare offer letters and contracts of employment, reference requests, ensuring completion of all compliance checks and that all HR paperwork is received and checked against the starter checklist prior to the start date. 

- Ensuring Safer Recruitment procedures are followed at all times, and that regulatory, legislative compliance and statutory requirements are met. This includes agency staff, volunteers, governors and contractors.

Absence Management 

- Assisting with overseeing and developing existing strategies and practices to ensure staff well-being, fitness for work and excellent levels of attendance

- Monitoring, analysing and reporting of staff sickness, ensuring that effective processes such as return to work meetings are correctly and effectively followed by staff and line manager ensure improving attendance

Payroll Administration

- Developing and maintaining HR files in line with statutory requirements and according to best practice

- Maintaining up to date HR information for all staff including leavers ensuring that the information held is accurate and up to date

- Maintain training records for staff on Arbor
