Interim Head of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) - Strategic Lead

Daily Rate: 250 - 300

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of the EDI strategy and governance framework, enhancing the learning and development (L&D) dimension of inclusion through an organisation-wide cultural competency programme. Key responsibilities will include:

Lead the implementation of the EDI strategy, ensuring alignment and accountability across all levels.

  • Design and execute a programme focused on awareness, behaviour change, and inclusive practises.
  • Chair the Inclusion Council, monitor EDI KPIs, and produce quarterly reports for senior leadership.
  • Act as the senior liaison for colleagues' networks, fostering alignment with EDI goals and empowering network leadership.
  • Develop and deliver EDI learning campaigns and communications that resonate with diverse audiences.


Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Significant experience leading EDI strategy implementation within complex, matrixed organisations, preferably in the health or charity sectors.
  • Proven ability to design and embed cultural competency programmes that enhance organisational inclusion.
  • Strong background in learning and development with a track record of impactful interventions.
  • Deep understanding of intersectionality, systemic bias, and anti-racist practises.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with credibility at the executive and board levels.
  • Skilled in content creation and facilitation for diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in interpreting data and presenting progress in accessible formats.
  • Strong project management skills to effectively deliver within a high-impact interim assignment.
