The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) are looking to recruit a HR Officer. The successful candidate will provide high-quality HR operational service and support the development and delivery of new HR interventions aligned with the MOPAC People Strategy. This role is crucial in supporting a range of human resources activities and functions to achieve the aims and objectives of MOPAC.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Act as the first point of contact for managers and staff within MOPAC, responding to queries and requests for information and support.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of HR systems, and lead on specific elements as required.
  • Coordinate recruitment campaigns from advertisement to onboarding, ensuring diversity and inclusion are prioritised.
  • Manage changes to employment terms and conditions, monthly payroll updates, and ensure accurate HR system data.
  • Oversee the vetting process for new starters and renewals, liaising with the Metropolitan Police Service Vetting Unit.
  • Coordinate learning and development activities, liaise with providers, and report on attendance and evaluations.
  • Generate workforce reports for effective analysis and support the HR team in strategic HR planning.
  • Provide first-line advice on HR policies, attend meetings, take minutes, and maintain records.
  • Support all relevant HR manual systems and business administration activities, including financial processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar HR role, handling a wide range of operational HR activities.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures including absence management, performance capability, diversity and inclusion, recruitment, and retention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships and communicating effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
