The Senior HR Advisor will provide expert guidance on HR policies, supports employee relations, and ensures compliance with UK employment law. They are responsible for supporting all areas of the HR function including recruitment, talent management, reward, employee lifecycle and learning and development initiatives, helping to foster a positive workplace culture and drive organisational success.

Description

  • Employee Relations: Manage low to complex ER cases independently (conduct, capability, grievances, absence).
  • Manager Capability: Deliver HR training and coaching to strengthen line management skills.
  • Change & Projects: Lead/support change management processes and HR projects aligned with the People Plan and strategy.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Own recruitment processes, advise on talent strategies, and ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Talent & Succession: Drive talent management, workforce planning, and succession planning initiatives.
  • HR Operations: Support payroll, admin, lifecycle tasks, policy updates, and ensure accurate people data and systems.
  • Performance & Absence: Monitor performance, sickness, probation, and behavior management; promote proactive interventions.
  • Engagement & Reporting: Lead engagement activities, support L&D and reward cycles, and produce insightful HR reports and metrics.

Profile

A successful Senior HR Advisor should have:

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a similar HR role within the Energy, construction, engineering, manufacturing or facilities industry.
  • Outstanding knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
  • Excellent understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to site once per month
