Are you an experienced data leader looking to drive change in a complex, global environment? A leading international law firm is seeking a Head of Data to spearhead its firm-wide data strategy, ensuring best-in-class data governance, integration, and operational efficiency.

Based 3 days onsite in central London.

£100-145k per annum

About the Role

As Head of Data, you will report to the Global Director of Information Technology and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the firm to develop and implement a global data vision. You will be instrumental in managing data risks, leveraging insights, and embedding a 'data-first’ culture within the business.

This is a high-impact leadership position requiring a mix of data expertise, stakeholder influence, and transformational thinking—particularly suited for someone with experience in a professional services or legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the firm's global data strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Establish and chair a firm-wide Data Governance Group to enforce standards and mitigate risks.
  • Improve data quality and integration across systems to support better reporting and business insight.
  • Collaborate with Governance, Change, and L&D teams to promote data literacy and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation through data innovation.
  • Champion a data culture that supports compliance, consistency, and informed decision-making.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage data resources as needed.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in a senior data leadership role within a law firm or similar professional services setting.
  • Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at Partner and C-suite level.
  • Strong grasp of data governance, system integration, and process optimisation.
  • Able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Commercially aware, with a pragmatic, results-driven mindset.
  • Highly organised, inquisitive, detail-oriented, and resilient under pressure.
