Senior Operations & IT Officer | Part-time (3 day) | £17-22ph | Charity | Hybrid | 3 months with possibility of going permanent

Altum are proud to be working with a social welfare charity to recruit for operational support within the team. This post is currently vacant and although they need someone immediately, there's a good chance this role could go permanent. We're looking for a proactive candidate who is keen to make an administrative and operational impact to an amazing charity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with IT and tech suppliers; oversee procurement and on-boarding of new staff.
  • Carry out general administrative tasks and contribute to organisational development.
  • Lead and manage ad hoc operational projects (e.g. refurbishments, IT upgrades).
  • Collaborate across departments, including Events and HR, to support smooth operations.
  • Act as the main liaison with the property management company and escalate building issues as needed.
  • Oversee maintenance and facilities issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Coordinate contractors and ensure all health & safety documentation is up to date.
  • Support health & safety compliance and staff training in partnership with HR and external consultants.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and improvements in IT systems.
  • Ensure all mandatory building tests and checks are recorded and actioned.

Person Specification

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
  • A proactive and positive nature, with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Proven project management experience with strong organisational skills.
  • Confident with Microsoft Office (especially Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Understanding of H&S, GDPR, basic budget management, and charity sector IT needs.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working both independently and within a team.

This role will be on a part-time basis over 3 days, which can be worked as flexibly as needed across the working week. It will require 2 of the 3 days on site in their Central London offices. Candidates must be available to start immediately.
