Venn Group are working with a local authority client in London to recruit an IT Project Manager to deliver a Windows 11 upgrade and rollout.

The contract is initially for 3 months, and is expected to run for 6 months.

  • IR35 Status: Inside of IR35
  • Pay rate: £475 umbrella
  • Onsite requirement: 3 days per week in London

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive project plan for the rollout of devices with W11 across the estate, together with deliverables and milestones
  • Work with users to coordinate project tasks and ensure that information needed for the refresh is provided and timelines met
  • Create and oversee the Windows 11 deployment process, to ensure that the rollout order is managed and adhered to
  • Manage 2x Windows 11 Rollout Desktop Engineers
  • Plan and oversee the migration of one of the organisation’s core applications to a hosted Citrix environment
  • Support the Technical Architect in ensuring application testing and readiness including ensuring specialist software required for accessibility reasons
  • Implement and maintain the asset management tool, ensuring all new devices and software under Windows 11 are registered
  • Arrange and chair monthly Programme Board meetings to report progress
  • Arrange weekly catch-up meetings to provide updates on progress and to ensure project remains on track
  • Maintain the Risk Log and Actions Log
  • Work with comms to ensure programme and project timescales are understood
  • Provide detailed documentation around deployment process including guides and procedures/processes
  • Ensure end-user training and support is in place post migration

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience of working within the public sector 
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems, deployment tools (including InTune and AutoPilot), and desktop/server infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience in managing IT projects with an understanding of principles including Agile, preferably with a focus on operating system migrations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders and technical teams
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues and project challenges
  • Ability to manage and present to all levels of the organisation
