IT Systems Administrator - Shipping Industry - Great Career Opportunity - City of London / Hybrid - up to £50k

We’re on the hunt for a critical thinking and proactive problem-solving IT Systems Administrator to join a fabulous organisation based in the City of London on a full time, permanent basis.

This is a great opportunity for an IT Systems Administrator with c3+ years experience in system administration (or similar) and demonstrable experience in Microsoft Azure, networking technologies, Cloud Shell and Infrastructure as Code.

The IT Systems Administrator will assist colleagues with any issues arising from IT hardware, communications software or computer applications. You will also be responsible for managing and maintaining the cloud infrastructure on MS Azure.

Key responsibilities as the IT Systems Administrator:

  • Configuring and maintaining the cloud infrastructure
  • Ensuring data is stored securely and regularly backed up
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking and systems issues as required
  • Replacing and upgrading defective or outdated components
  • Monitoring system performance, ensuring everything runs smoothly and securely
  • Providing technical support to colleagues as needed
  • Creating metrics to measure the effectiveness of system performance
  • Planning for hardware or software upgrades
  • Troubleshooting any issues and resolving system failures or problems
  • Designing, implementing and maintaining MS Azure networking

What we’re looking for:

  • Relevant experience in a similar IT Systems Administrator role (or similar), c3+ years
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of MS Azure
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (Microsoft Azure Network Engineer is advantageous)
  • Ability to demonstrable in-depth knowledge of various Azure technologies
  • In-depth experience of networking technologies (subnetting, vNet peering, Routing, Firewalls, NSG and NAT)
  • Experience with Cloud Shell and Infrastructure as Code
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Confident and personable communication skills
  • Flexible, adaptable and resourceful
  • Flexibility to work out of hours if necessary
