Are you an experienced housekeeping team leader / manager? Are you experienced working with in the luxury hospitality sector? Excited by the opportunity to work, whilst travelling through some of the UK's most picturesque scenery? We have the role for you!

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Housekeeping, to lead a team of 2 - 3 housekeepers aboard a luxury UK based Explorer train.

You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall appearance of the train. Lead the Cabin team to ensure the train is clean, well-maintained, and welcoming to guests. To ensure the highest standards of service, and creating a luxurious and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the Cabin service for our guests. Making sure that all services are delivered timeously, in accordance with our standards and meets the expectations of our guests.
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests in accordance with the company and Leading Quality Assurance standards.
  • To monitor team members effectiveness and implement corrective action where required.
  • To lead by example, provide a level of service and standards in line with company SOP's, customer expectations.
  • Ensuring the Cabin stewards receive all the necessary documentation, information and materials to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Supervise loading and unloading of luggage.
  • Ensure guests are given the right cabin before departure with adequate amenities.
  • Make sure all luggage is properly loaded.
  • Monitor loading and unloading of materials.
  • Managing Cabins mise-en-place and clearing and provide help when necessary.
  • Control storage facilities.
  • Maintain the appearance of the assigned Housekeeping areas, including cabins and public areas with a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Ensure that cabins are serviced as per company standard.
  • Report and coordinate the maintenance work with the maintenance team, in respective areas, to keep the train well maintained.
  • Ensure correct stock levels of guests
  • Create, update and implement departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that operational standards and procedures of the department are adhered to.
  • Implement measures and systems to improve cost efficiency and the internal and external customer experience.
  • Budget, plan and monitor departmental expenditure.

Experience Required:

  • Flexible to work on board a luxury train (for up to 6 days a time)
  • Previous experience in a similar role - advantageous.
  • Experience within the luxury hospitality industry - advantageous.
  • Relevant management or field/industry related diploma or degree.
  • Experience in managing a team.
  • Hospitality qualification advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative and creative. Previous experience i
  • Operating & using a modern sewing machine, over lock machine, heat seal, steam iron, scissors, rippers and bolt cutters in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Experience in fixing tears, repairing seams and performing alterations of garments.
  • Experience in resolving customer issues/complaints.
