This is a rare opportunity to be part of a developing book from the ground up, with meaningful exposure to strategy, pricing, and underwriting processes.The Opportunity This newly launched US Casualty Umbrella and Excess and is expected to grow significantly. The role offers you the chance to work in a leader-follow model, where the team prices and rates accounts but currently operates without a dedicated claims team—relying instead on third-party insights.You'll support underwriting across a diverse range of sectors, including:
  • Product Liability
  • Rail
  • Construction
  • Premises & Operations
As part of a close-knit and collaborative structure reporting into the Operations team, you’ll work alongside both the Group Head of US Casualty and a Senior Underwriter to ensure smooth operational execution while gaining exposure to high-level decision-making.Key Responsibilities
  • Support underwriting tasks including account pricing, rating, and documentation
  • Liaise with brokers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely processing of quotes and binders
  • Maintain underwriting files and assist with data analysis/reporting
  • Contribute to the smooth running of day-to-day operations
  • Assist in the development and refinement of underwriting guidelines as the book matures
About You
  • Previous experience in a similar Assistant Underwriter or Underwriting Analyst role (US Casualty preferred)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Eagerness to be part of a developing team and learn from senior underwriting leaders
  • Familiarity with casualty classes of business (especially excess & umbrella) is highly advantageous
