The Role

We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity within the Wordings team for our Global Fortune 500 Specialty Insurance client, based in their London office.

This role is part of the teams continued growth and expansion of their wordings function and offers an excellent entry point for those looking to start a career within Wordings, either for those working currently within the insurance sector or individuals looking to transition from another industry into this space.

The role will include day to day interaction with the underwriting and support functions to provide technical assistance to underwriters in the delivery of their business plans.

What we are looking for in you?

  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills, ability to drive consensus and negotiations
  • Experience of legal contract or insurance policy drafting highly desirable
  • Experience of collaborating with senior management, senior stakeholders and boards/ committees
  • Knowledge of insurance business, markets, and general insurance related terminology useful
  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills
  • Strong attentions to detail
  • Team orientation - it is important that the person works within the team to ensure high standards of product delivery and collaboration
  • Good communication skills.; uses clear language and is precise and succinct in communication with stakeholders.

What you will be doing in the role?

  • Providing reviews and advice on various wordings and products including the client's products, Binding Authorities, Coverholder and broker wordings.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging trends including regulatory, legal and market developments and provide advice to underwriters where there is a potential impact on any of the client's product offerings.
  • Developing and delivering advice to underwriters on wording related issues and including emerging market, regulatory or legal trends that impact product wording where required.
  • Work with other areas of the business to ensure the sharing of technical knowledge and consistency of approach to wordings.
  • Work with other team members to provide visibility of workloads and the timely delivery of service to underwriters on wording matters.
  • Ensure wordings are compliant with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to explain complex and technical topics in an approachable and accessible way for both internal and external stakeholders.
