Job Title: Legal Cashier Manager

Reports to: Director of Finance & Operations

Our client, a highly regarded and established boutique law firm, are looking to appoint senior legal cashier to take charge of the cashiering function in a very busy, dynamic and fast paced environment.

This position will work closely with the Revenue Control Manager who supports cashiering at busy times.

Experience - Required

  • At least 4-5 years previous legal cashiering experience to include client and office account
  • Billing experience
  • Knowledge of VAT treatment on Disbursements
  • PL Experience
  • Good knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Good excel and word skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to multi-task
  • 'Can do’ attitude.

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Daily Bank Reconciliations;
  • Client billing;
  • Daily banking;
  • Processing bank transactions using Natwest Bankline;
  • Posting cheques to the ledgers;
  • Counsel and expert fee posting, payment etc;
  • Purchase ledger
  • Raising cheques for court fees;
  • Petty cash;
  • Collecting receipts and post the Partners’ credit cards transactions
  • Staff expenses claims
  • Posting month end journals and month end close;
  • Organising and running the transactional year end
  • Dealing directly with Auditors in the SRA audit
  • Internal Account Transfers
  • Keeping track and paying out on the firms Referral Scheme
  • Monthly meeting with the COFA
  • Ad hoc duties to partners and fee earners
