I am delighted to be partnered with a top global law firm in their search for a legal biller to join their London office. The role reports to an experienced billing supervisor and sits in a wider accounts team of 25.

Day duties of the role:

  • Manage end-to-end billing in line with firm policies and HMRC/SRA rules.
  • Take ownership of billing processes within aligned departments.
  • Take ownership of ebilling processes for relevant clients.
  • Handle internal billing queries professionally and diligently.
  • Handle write-offs, transfers, and credit notes.
  • Produce billing guides.
  • Create WIP reports.
  • Assist with preparing billing schedules.
  • Correspond with the Revenue team.
  • Work closely with the Finance team and aligned groups to improve billing processes.
  • Liaise proactively with EAs and LSTs for billing instructions.
  • Liaise with Compliance and Finance teams and fee earners for seamless billing execution.
  • Ensure deadlines are met through effective time and workload management.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance team efficiency.
  • Contribute to change management programs related to billing practices.

The right candidate will need:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role within a law firm or professional services firm.
  • Essential Elite 3E experience.
  • Strong understanding of billing processes and financial management.
  • Knowledge of HMRC and SRA rules.
  • Excellent client service skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Strong team player, able to take direction.
  • Strong communication with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Numerate and confident with budgeting.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft suite and legal systems.
