City & Capital is currently working with a highly respected and fast-growingspecialist property finance lender who have retained our servicesto appoint an ambitious and career minded Loan Portfolio Assistantto their growing team, at an exciting time.

Our client is backed by strong investment and large secured funding lines which are driving ambitious targets to double the size of their loan book in 2025. This will drive more loans and borrowers to the loan book which is driving the current growth of their loan management team and division.

Our client offers bridging finance, development exit loans, BTL and commercial mortgages to property developers and investors. Loans vary in terms of size and shape, with deals ranging from £100k - £100m.

As Loan Portfolio Assistant you will work alongside a team of Portfolio Managers to ensure that all funded loans reach a healthy redemption at the end of the loan term. This will involve monitoring and reporting on loan performance and positions and making recommendations on areas that require improvement or action. You will proactively aim to identify and address early warning signs or opportunities.

Where issues or opportunities are identified, you will work to support the solution which may include aspects such as arranging new loans, assisting borrowers with product transfers, planning redemption strategies and assisting with loan or asset recovery.

This is also an opportunity that comes with lots of development and opportunity to progress within.

Duties include (but may not be limited to):

  • Monitoring the performance of loans within the portfolio

  • Identifying warning signs or opportunities within the portfolio of loans

  • Ensuring loans are compliant to contractual agreements

  • Reviewing and monitoringweekly reports for relevant actions

  • Liaising & supporting Portfolio Manager’s with complex tasks

  • Reviewing contracts and audits with credit bureaus

  • Devising & implementing strategies for loan redemptions

  • Maintainingdeal sheets for corporate borrowers or investors

The ideal individual for this role will have some current or priorexperience of loan management or loan servicing, ideally within the mortgage or property finance sector. You will be a confident and comfortablecommunicator as you will be required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, such as senior management & our client’s borrowers.

Additionally, our clients loan management team is both extremely busy and fast paced, so this role would certainly suit an individual who would thrive in such a setting and who enjoys a diverse and wide-ranging set of duties within their role.

Most notably, you will be ambitious and keen to increase your knowledge and understanding of complex real estate lending as all training and development will be given to assist your capacity to take on more senior roles within, in time.

The ideal individual will:

  • Demonstrate current or previous experience in loan servicing or portfolio management

  • Be highly organised and capable of managing multiple loans and borrowers

  • Have an excellent attention to detail and be highly organised

  • Be a confident communicator in all aspects, internally and externally

  • Be highly proactive, quick to spot opportunities or problems to address

  • Be a genuine team player and enjoy collaboration with the broader portfolio team

  • Be ambitious and keen to grow within

On Offer

The basic salary for this role is between c£35k - £45k relevant to experience. Higher offers may be considered for exceptional talent and experience. Salary will be complemented by access to two separate uncapped bonus structures too, that will signifincantly increase earnings year on year, based on performance.
