We are hiring on behalf of our client a respected and dynamic media company based in North London, for a newly created Copy Editor (Print & Digital) role. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business at an exciting point of digital transformation, where your work will help shape how valuable content reaches an engaged professional audience.

About the Role
As Copy Editor, you will play a vital part in the production of digital and print content across reports, publications, newsletters and web. You’ll be the gatekeeper for editorial quality, ensuring all content is accurate, legally compliant, SEO-optimised and grammatically flawless.
Reporting to the Content Editor, you’ll work cross-functionally with editorial, insight, and digital teams to ensure consistent tone, style, and delivery of high-value information for the independent retail and wholesale channel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sub-edit print and digital content, ensuring legal, grammatical, and brand standards are met
  • Write headlines and optimise copy for SEO and engagement
  • Work within CMS platforms and support newsletter creation
  • Repurpose content for different channels and audiences
  • Collaborate on workflow and efficiency improvements
  • Support insight and marketing teams as required
  • Deputise for the Content Editor when needed, including sign-off for print

What We're Looking For
Essential:

  • Strong editorial background with excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
  • Proven ability to edit news, features, reports, and digital content to high standards
  • Skilled in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
  • Experienced with CMS and content production tools
  • Well-organised, deadline-driven, and proactive
  • Confident communicator who works well both independently and in teams

Desirable:

  • Adobe Illustrator and basic HTML skills
  • Knowledge of the convenience retail sector
