Looking for an experienced chef to lead our daytime only kitchen and manage a small team of 2 to 3 people. You will need to be passionate, professional and enthusiastic about helping us, the owners of a well established and popular vegetarian cafe/restaurant, literary and antiques space in Camden to deliver and continuously evolve our seasonal food offering to our loyal customers. You will need to be genuinely interested in ingredients, their seasonality, sourcing and provenance and the creation of dishes as well as be driven by consistency, precision and exacting standards and inspire this in your team. You will be able to manage the kitchen operation by working closely with the owners and our current kitchen team of two including a cake chef and be happy with sharing and directing the responsibility of running a small but professional kitchen. We have an unusual and unique, tranquil space for London, overlooking a 40 year old award wining social enterprise garden centre and we are continually looking to build on existing high levels of customer experience, quirk and professionalism. We were named by The Observer food magazine as the number two venue for breakfast in the UK and we want someone who is excited about building on these credentials. The job includes working both weekend days as well as 2 to 3 weekdays with some shifts working alone. It is a salaried position. It is daytime only position and 40 hours maximum.
