The Talent Set are excited to be working with a highly regarded Membership organisation who are looking for a Senior Media Manager. The organisation is going through an exciting busy period as they look to optimise their product proposition and they are looking for you to be at the heart of all internal and external communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media statements, and briefing materials for senior spokespeople.
- Be the figurehead of internal communications for the organisation, working closely with HR and other key stakeholders.
- Manage a small but growing team.
- Respond promptly and accurately to media inquiries, often under tight deadlines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
- Proactively pitch stories and secure media coverage for key campaigns, initiatives, and events. Provide clear and concise messaging, offering strategic advice to senior leadership in high-pressure situations.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure messaging is aligned and consistent across all communications.Â
Person Specification:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content under pressure.
- Previous experience in a membership or Charity organisation.Â
- Extensive experience working in a fast-paced media and communications team.
- Proven track record in delivering high-quality media relations and internal communication services.
- Experience building relationships with media outlets and successfully placing stories in regional and national press.
- Skilled at identifying opportunities in the news agenda, handling reactive queries, and managing reputational risks.
- Ability to write accurate, engaging, and SEO-optimized content for digital channels that is accessible, persuasive, and drives website traffic.
