Town Planner
Location: London

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading UK property consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their London based planning team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and commercially aware Town Planner to take the next step in their career with a highly regarded consultancy known for delivering high quality advice across the property, planning, and development sectors. You'll join a growing and dynamic planning team that works on a diverse portfolio of projects across London and the South East from complex urban regeneration schemes to major commercial, residential, and mixed use developments.



The Role

As a Town Planner, you'll work closely with senior colleagues and clients to provide expert planning advice and manage a variety of planning applications and appeals. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects while developing your professional and commercial skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications and appeals.

  • Conducting site appraisals, planning research, and policy analysis.

  • Preparing planning statements, design and access statements, and reports.

  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.

  • Supporting senior colleagues in business development and project delivery.

  • Representing the company at meetings, public consultations, and planning committees.



About You

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.

  • MRTPI qualified or actively working towards chartered status.

  • Around 2-5 years' post graduate experience within a consultancy or local authority environment.

  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system and current planning policy.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

  • A proactive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented approach.
