A leading, employee-owned consultancy is seeking Senior and Principal-level Landscape Planning professionals to support a growing portfolio of nationally significant infrastructure and development projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and progressive team delivering work across a range of sectors including renewable energy (onshore/offshore wind, solar, BESS), carbon capture, data centres, urban regeneration, housing, and transport and energy infrastructure.

The successful candidates will have experience delivering robust Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) and a wider interest in applying landscape and environmental considerations to context-led masterplanning and design. You will be joining a forward-thinking and collaborative environment that supports career development through mentoring and offers excellent exposure to high-profile, multidisciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and author technically robust LVIAs and contribute to a wide range of planning and assessment work.

  • Apply a solid understanding of relevant methodologies and guidance, including:

    • Guidelines for Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (3rd Edition)

    • Landscape Institute Technical Guidance Notes (e.g. RVAA, landscape value assessment)

  • Contribute to or lead landscape character assessments, Green Belt reviews, and appraisals of protected/designated landscapes.

  • Engage effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, working closely with planners, ecologists, designers, and engineers.

  • Provide mentorship and support to junior team members and contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.

  • Apply environmental knowledge creatively to the masterplanning and design process.

  • Support public inquiry work where relevant, with experience as an expert witness considered advantageous.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture and CMLI (or equivalent professional accreditation).

  • Experience in a consultancy or multidisciplinary planning/design environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or co-lead landscape planning workstreams.

  • Knowledge of relevant UK legislation, policy, and consenting regimes (including DCO, TCPA, and others).

  • Confident project management and communication skills.

  • Skills in GIS desirable but not essential.

  • Experience of participating in public consultations, hearings, or appeals is an advantage.

Additional Information:

  • Positions available in multiple UK studio locations (with hybrid working options).

  • The organisation is 100% employee-owned, with a strong collective ethos and a flat, inclusive structure.

  • The team offers structured mentoring, training, and a clear path to career progression.
