Job Title - Childcare Lawyer
Location - Central London
Duration - 3-month assignment, 36 hours per week, 2 days per week in the office
Rate - 40.00 - 43.09ph umbrella / 38.08ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / 33.98ph PAYE exc. holidy pay
About the Role:
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance on childcare matters to colleagues, managers, and partner agencies.
- Manage a diverse caseload of childcare matters and contribute to high-profile cases.
- Ensure compliance with legal frameworks and deliver timely and accurate legal and procedural advice.
- Support the Principal Solicitor and Director of Law on significant, politically sensitive cases.
- Proven experience advising on local authority duties and powers relating to children and young adults.
- Strong knowledge of childcare law, related legislation, and case law.
- Awareness of local government law and decision-making processes (desirable but not essential).
- Effective communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, handle sensitive issues diplomatically, and maintain detail-focused compliance.
- Digital proficiency and willingness to embrace agile and flexible working.
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx entitled to practice in England and Wales.
