We are working closely with a leading UK law firm to support a critical short-term cover within their corporate team. This unique opportunity has arisen due to a planned period of absence across Summer, starting in June 2025.

The team is seeking an experienced Corporate M&A Lawyer with experience in the renewable energy sector to step in and take the reins during this period of absence, with the support of Partners within the team. The successful individual must be comfortable running complex corporate M&A deals in the renewable energy sector, and be confident in working autonomously at a senior level.

This is a high-calibre, senior-level cover, providing hands-on involvement in a dynamic, transactions-heavy Corporate M&A team with a strong reputation in renewables. The successful individual will work with a range of clients across clean energy and infrastructure, continuing delivery of service excellence during the period of absence. Whilst the successful individual will not be responsible for managing more junior members of the team, they must be capable of structuring deals, delegating work to other members of the team or different teams (if necessary), handling work directly, and then reviewing work delegated to other members/teams.

Successful applicants are likely to demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a Lawyer - ideally in England & Wales or another commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia and/or New Zealand, for example)
  • Upwards of 7+ years' PQE, (Ex-Partner and/or Counsel level applicants are welcome)
  • A strong recent private practice background is essential - ideally with experience at a Top 50 or City firm
  • Significant exposure to renewable energy M&A preferred, though high-end corporate M&A experience with some energy work will also be considered
  • Comfort in working remotely within the UK, with a willingness to travel occasionally for key client meetings (rare)
  • Ability to commit to an assignment of 2 months in duration for 4-5 days per week, starting in June 2025

A competitive daily rate is on offer for this assignment.

Please apply with your CV to in confidence.

Please note that where a level of preferred experience or qualification is indicated, this is a guideline only and does not preclude applications from candidates with more or less experience.
