The team has led landmark cases involving significant protest and human rights issues, advocating in both high-profile and appellate court matters.Position Overview:We are seeking a Solicitor with 0-3 years’ PQE to join a pioneering protest and general crime team. This role offers a unique opportunity to participate in groundbreaking protest cases and general criminal defence work, allowing significant exposure to advocacy in both Magistrates and Crown Courts, as well as appellate courts. The ideal candidate will have criminal defence experience, and police station accreditation or duty solicitor status is desirable.Key Responsibilities:
  • Representing clients involved in high-profile protest cases and general crime matters.
  • Engaging in advocacy at Magistrates, Crown, and Appellate Courts.
  • Assisting and managing cases involving human rights and protest-related legal issues.
  • Developing case strategies, conducting legal research, and preparing documentation.
  • Collaborating closely with senior team members for support and guidance.
  • Attending police stations and providing immediate representation and advice.
Requirements:
  • Qualified solicitor with 0-3 years’ PQE.
  • Previous experience in criminal defence, with protest experience being advantageous.
  • Police station accreditation or duty solicitor status preferred.
  • Demonstrable advocacy experience or a keen interest in developing strong advocacy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
