We are currently seeking a Civilian Investigator to support an ongoing caseload with the Metropolitan Police, based in Putney.

This is a hybrid role, with four days in the office and one day working from home.

Contract Details
  • Duration: Initial 6-month interim contract, with potential for extension depending on workload.
  • Location: Putney (Hybrid working model).
Role Overview

You will be assisting Specialist Crime South (MIT 11) in the investigation of a fatal gas explosion that occurred in Mitcham in August 2022, resulting in the tragic death of a four-year-old child.

This is a complex investigation into Corporate and Gross Negligence Manslaughter, conducted jointly by the Metropolitan Police Service and the Health and Safety Executive. The case is currently in its digital review phase, focusing on the analysis of staff digital accounts, company records, and operational practices. Your primary responsibility will be supporting this review.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct digital reviews and assist in compiling investigative files.
  • Support statement-taking and victim interview processes.
  • Evaluate and present evidence to ensure completeness and quality.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
  • PIP2 accreditation is desirable.
  • Proven investigative experience, particularly in compiling case files.
  • Strong knowledge of criminal law and police procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in victim interviewing and statement taking is essential.
Compensation & Benefits
  • PAYE: £20.98 per hour
