A leading boutique law firm based in London is looking to recruit an experienced Family Solicitor to join their well-regarded and growing team. The successful Family Solicitor will provide legal advice and representation across a wide spectrum of family law matters, including divorce, financial settlements, child arrangements, and domestic abuse cases.

With a reputation for excellence in both litigation and non-court dispute resolution (NCDR), this is a superb opportunity for a Family Solicitor seeking a position where emotional intelligence and technical expertise are equally valued. This firm is committed to delivering exceptional client care and high-quality legal services, and the incoming Family Solicitor will be key to maintaining and building upon that standard.

The Family Solicitor's Role

The appointed Family Solicitor will:

  • Provide tailored legal advice to clients in all areas of family law.

  • Assess case viability and funding, offering written cost estimates in line with firm protocols.

  • Draft and negotiate pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, divorce petitions, financial remedy orders, and child arrangement orders.

  • Represent clients in court on matters involving divorce, custody, spousal support, and protective injunctions.

  • Manage their own caseload, maintaining compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.

  • Participate in business development activities, fostering new client relationships and supporting the team's growth.

  • Supervise and mentor junior team members.

The Family Solicitor

To be considered, the Family Solicitor will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 10 years' PQE in family law.

  • Resolution accreditation or other relevant professional recognition.

  • Experience in NCDR, including qualifications in collaborative law or mediation (preferred).

  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.

  • An empathetic, client-focused approach and ability to handle sensitive matters.

  • Solid understanding of SRA rules, family law statutes, and legal aid or alternative funding options.

  • Familiarity with Lexcel or equivalent quality assurance standards.

  • Existing caseload advantageous but not essential.
