Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Local Authority in South West London seeking an experienced and motivated Residential Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in residential conveyancing and development plot sales. As a key member of the team, you will be advising clients on all aspects of residential development, including acquisitions, disposals, lease extensions, and the variation of restrictive covenants.ROLE:                  Residential Property LawyerLOCATION:         South West LondonRATE:                   £45.00 to £50.00ph umbrella (£44.51ph PAYE inc. holiday pay, £39.72ph exc. Holiday pay)CONTRACT:        3 months ongoing, 35 hour per weekPlease note this role requires office attendance 2 days per week.Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing expert legal advice on residential conveyancing matters, including acquisitions, disposals, lease extensions, and variation of restrictive covenants.
  • Handling residential development plot sales and advising clients on all related aspects of the transaction.
  • Supporting residential transactions and ensuring legal compliance in a variety of development projects.
  • Working with clients to navigate the complexities of residential development, including negotiations and drafting documents.
  • Using case management systems for the effective management of cases and accurate time recording.
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience in dealing with new developments and plot sales.
  • A background in advising on local authority land dealings (although this is not essential).
  • A private practice background is also welcomed for the right candidate.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in case management systems and time recording tools.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a varied caseload.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Good organisational skills and a proactive approach to workload management.
Working Arrangement:
  • Part-time role (2 days per week in the office).
  • Hybrid working with the flexibility to balance in-office and remote work.
